Language is the house that we live in. The impetus for this project was an interest in examining my habit of writing things down, noting tidbits and turns of phrase.
An effort in preservation. This interest especially gravitates toward what is commonly held between us, whether it be language, the natural world, sensual experience,
the strive to be a better individual, community, nation. A love of words and of the world is a catalyst for poetry. Bring what you will to the table, as long as you stay hungry
for curiosity and meaning.
Everyday in their use and form, idioms touch upon these communal aspects of life. As metaphor, they always point to something else; read literally, they offer poetic and playful
ways of deciphering the world. This is how reading can be like a game. What better a field than the postcard to play within, a fluid and public form to exchange our words.
It’s your turn. Write something down. Share it.
