Bore Fields
Casey Deming & Leslie Grant

An exhibition to culminate a five month-long residency through Coffee House Press: In the Stacks at the Laurence McKinley Gould Library at Carleton College in Northfield, MN. November 2018 - April 2019.

An investigation of the interrelationship of labor, storytelling, institutional infrastructure, and archival knowledge-keeping through the lens of energy—specifically, the historical and contemporary methods of production at Carleton.

To conclude the show, a conversation exploring how archives can be "activated" and accessed by artists, researchers, and more broadly by the general public was held at Company Projects in NE Minneapolis. In addition to Casey & Leslie, panelists included Tom Lamb (Head of Special Collections & Archives, Gould Library), Bailey Diers (Special Collections Librarian, Hennepin County Library), Jenna Grant (Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology, University of Washington), and Jaysen Hohlen (Artist, BFA candidate, University of Minnesota).
